21 Days (and counting) To A Wellness Lifestyle!

Countdown to Wellness

It has been over 21-days since I embarked on my wellness journey and the payoff has been great! I did not wait for the perfect moment to begin my journey. We all know that there are no perfect moments, only created opportunities. After months of pondering the idea of becoming healthier, I woke up one morning and decided that NOW was the time! I jumped into the deep and began to make some changes to ensure that I live a long and healthy life. Don’t get me wrong, it has been a struggle and there were days when I did not want to exercise or incorporate healthy foods into my diet. However, I decided to activate my faith in God and rely on my strength in Him to create the change I wanted to experience.

I am happy to report that along the way, I have become stronger physically, mentally and spiritually. With each mile on the treadmill, chest press, lateral pull and sit-up, I reclaimed my right to be the best possible me that I can be, with out sacrificing my happiness and productivity.

In coaching this process is often referred to as a mental shift. This happens when a change of focus and perception takes place. When a positive mental shift occurs, it creates the power to live a healthier life style and it improves a person’s rate of success and contributes to overall happiness. A positive mental shift helps you to see the value in yourself and make the commitment to positive change.

When making changes it is best to:

  1. Focus on what you are gaining rather than what you are loosing.
  2. Maintain a positive support system.
  3. Prepare a strategy on how to deal with mental resistance.
  4. When you fall short of your goal don’t beat yourself up, but do get back on track immediately.
  5.  Celebrate your success every step of the way!

It’s not to late to start your journey to being a better you. You are not in this journey alone. Keep reminding yourself of how powerful and resilient you are in Christ Jesus.
