Chloe and Halle Bailey Cover “Strange Fruit” In Memory of Mike Brown

Chloe and Halle Bailey are two lovely and talented sisters from Atlanta. They are always a joy to watch. Whenever finger waving elders launch into another rant about “these kids today”….You can point to Chloe and Halle as an example of beautiful, talented and knowledgable youth. The Radio Disney contest winners, recently covered the song “Strange Fruit” in dedication  to Ferguson teenager Michael Brown. Strange Fruit was written by Abel Meeropol in 1937. The most well-known recording is by Bille Holiday. It was written as a protest song against racism and lynchings, which were prevalent in the American South during the first part of the century.

Chloe and Halle’s heartfelt rendition can be heard in the video below.

You can find out more about Chloe and Halle on their web here, an excerpt is beneath.

“Chloe and Halle Bailey are two young girls who are trying to impact the world with their talents. Chloe and Halle have performed on the “Ellen” Show twice, have over 10 million views on YouTube, and have acted in movies and TV with actors such as Angela Bassett, Queen Latifah, Tyler Perry, Beyonce, and Courtney Vance.

Some of the projects that Chloe and Halle have been involved in are, “Meet the Browns”, “House of Payne”, “The Fighting Temptations”, “The Last Holiday”, “Gospel Hill”,  “Joyful Noise” , and Disney Channel’s “Let it Shine”.

Music is a very important part of the Chloe and Halle experience. Chloe plays the Piano while Halle plays the Guitar. They are singers and songwriters with classic voices and melodic harmonies. At only 14 and 12 years old, they are happily learning and growing in their craft. Expect to see much bigger things in the future.”
